The HORSCH Avatar SD series is a versatile line of trailed seed drills built around the individually depth‑controlled SingleDisc coulter. Covering working widths from 9′ 10″ to 39′ 4″, the Avatar handles direct seeding, mulch seeding, conventional tillage, and seeding into standing catch crops at speeds up to 9 mph. Flexible hopper systems allow simultaneous application of up to four components, while options like selective hosing, AutoForce coulter pressure regulation, and the 20 cm NarrowDisc coulter let operators tailor the machine to virtually any cropping strategy.

  • Half‑Width Shut‑Off: Standard mechanical half‑width shut‑off on all models
Closing Wheels & Seed Fixing
  • Closing Wheel Steel: For wet and changing conditions; spring‑adjustable down force, variable angle setting; ideal for the offset method
  • Star Roller Steel: For dry soils; produces crumbly fine soil to close the seed furrow; spring‑adjustable down force, variable angle setting
  • Catching Roller: Rubber roller for safe seed placement in dry soils; creates connection to soil capillarity; can be lifted to a parking position in wet conditions
  • Uniformer: Presses seed into the furrow; ideal for green catch crops and wet conditions
